Akemi Nagao is a Berlin based Japanese dancer and choreographer. She has been dancing since she was three years old. Her dance background is ballet, street dance, soul dance in Japan. She started to develop her movement history into the contemporary dance and improvisation dance in Berlin from 2007. She has worked for Micha Purucker, Louise Wagner, Gerhart Hauptmann Theatre Görlitz-Zittau/wee dance company, Eva Baumann, Carl Orff/Lemi Ponifasio, and more choreographers and artists. She has also collaborated with Stina Nilsson, Ingo Reulecke, Fatou Traoré, William “Bilwa” Costa, Dietmar Kirstein, Adam Pultz Melbye, Michihiro Morisada, Michael Tuttle, Léo Dupleix, Yannick Dupont, Louis Evrard, Jasmin Schaitl and a lot of different kind of artists in Berlin, Brussels, Vienna and Japan. She has received founding from Kulturtopf Bremerhaven for the piece “A Step” which created with Michael Tuttle (sound artist) in 2012 and she had a residency at workspacebrussels at Kaaitheater Living in Brussels in October 2014.She was invited to teach a workshop as a guest artist from the Universität für angewandte Kunst.
María Ferrara set off from text-theatre. Soon she moved towards movement, dance, voice, clowning and devising, and in parallel became a yoga and Gestalt facilitator. She discovered improvised performance, moved to Berlin in 2014 following this interest and worked in several collaborations with performers, musicians and video artists in Madrid, London and Berlin. Her engagements for autumn 2015 are an individual movement-research project, Görli Dreamin’ – produced by impro.per.arts and directed by Jagna Anderson and an instant composition collaboration with percussionist Michael Vorfeld.
Jagna Anderson is a Berlin-based performer and freelance curator, born in Poland. Coming from university studies in Art History and Philosophy, she shifted her focus to artistic work in 2010, exploring modes of connecting sounding experience and body movement. In 2013 Jagna co-founded impro.per.arts – an curatorial platform engaged with improvisation as performance art, hosting performances, research projects and workshops. Since 2014 she is leading the weekly performance lab at Mime Centrum Berlin. 2015 she developed and staged Görli Dreamin’, a research and performance project linking the ideas of acoustic ecology and an ecology of urban movement practices.
